This was a helpful video from Jane. Ive avoided buying artichokes due to not knowing what to do with them. I may have a go now. I thought Jane’s olive oil container funny and hoped she would not knock it over and she seemed a bit embarrassed about being filmed.
Thankyou. x x x
I was amazed that so much of the artichoke was thrown away.
I love to wash them, boil with a little lemon juice in the water until tender and then spend an enjoyable time pulling off leaves, dipping in buttter and eating the tiny amount of flesh on each, until I reach the lovely centre. Tuck a napkin into your collar to catch the butter and enjoy.
Fab … I had artichokes in my box this week and didn’t know what to do with them either!!! Looked in my cook books with no joy so not resource was Riverford website (used many times over!) and not only do I find how to cook them but a demonstration too - can’t fault you guys when you think your at your best you guys get even better, love to see more of these as ‘not very often used’ veg turns up in my box.
I bought some artichokes from you guys recently, boiled them and covered them in a garliky butter yum! I’m so pleased that I can now cook them another way too.
You learn so much more when you watch someone cooking.
